Antique gilded wooden statue of the Virgin Mary, late 18th or early 19th century. The Virgin, known as the Assumption, has open arms, draped and resting on a cloud with angels. It features beautiful polychromy on the face and hands, and original gilding. In good condition, with a small chip on one finger. The sculpture is beautifully crafted; it cannot be sculpted in the round, so the arms were added later. Full of charm and antique patina.
