A legendary, early edition sculpture of a dancer with a veil, or "Madness," from Art Deco period, circa 1920, created by Marcel Bouraine for Le Verrier workshops. It depicts a dancer holding a stylized veil striated with geometric lines, resting on a stepped base of grey marble with white veins. It boasts a beautiful original patina of nuanced blue-green, cast in art metal, a material unique to the Le Verrier workshops. The sculpture is signed in relief "Denis," the pseudonym of Marcel Bouraine, and produced by the Max Le Verrier workshops.
