"18th Century Cherry Wood Slant-front Desk"
A slant-front desk in solid cherry wood, French work from the 18th century. The piece features a beautiful curved line, typical of 18th-century furniture, with cabriole legs, shaped stretchers, and harmonious proportions. The drop-front, adorned with a bronze keyhole escutcheon, opens to reveal an interior (not shown) traditionally fitted with compartments and drawers. The front has a large drawer with bronze handles and keyhole escutcheons, either original or in an antique style. The cherry wood has a beautiful warm patina, highlighting the natural grain. An authentic piece, well-proportioned, and in good overall condition.
