Small Bonheur Du Jour In Mahogany And Mahogany Veneer From The Empire Period, 19th Century.

A small Empire-style mahogany and mahogany veneer writing desk.
Early 19th century work.
Topped with a 2 cm thick marble slab in shades of black and dark gray, which is intact.
It opens with a wide drawer located just below the marble.
The front opens with a drop-front featuring a mercury mirrored base (note some signs of wear). Covered with a dark green leather top, it reveals five small drawers in total, as well as a storage niche.
At the bottom, a wide drawer in the apron rests on pilasters joined by a beautiful stretcher.
Ball feet at the front and straight feet at the back.
Perfectly stable.
A beautifully crafted piece of furniture with ideal dimensions that combines elegance and functionality.
