Antique Pearls Gold Earrings
We have a nice pair of antique earrings in the form of a small basket
full of little natural pearls mounted in 14K gold. They are a lovely
hand-crafted pieces of antique jewellery simbolizing abundance and
prosperity. It was a typical marriage gift belonging to the Sicilian
tradition. The groom gives it to the bride as a promise for a wealty
family. The gold is twisted and ciseled. Hundreds of small pearls are
carefully strung together. Small natural pearls was fished by the
Sicilians in the east mediterranean coasts and used also for jewellery
since the Middle Age. 14K gold (touchsone tested). End of the 19th
