Paul Causse (a 20th-century artist active in the 1930s and 40s), who was part of the Africanist movement. The painting is a watercolor, mixed media, framed in an antique frame. Signed lower right and located and dated: Collioure, April 1939. Here we have a view of the far end of the beach in the "faubourg" district of Collioure. In the foreground on the right, the sea, then the beach where a few boats are moored. In the background are the fishermen's houses, and beyond them, the bell tower of the old Dominican church, dating from the 13th century, can be seen. The painting has a luminous and natural atmosphere. 29 × 38 cm without the frame and 52 × 60 cm with the frame.
