A charming lead sculpture depicting a young boy holding a bird, it rests on a quadrangular base with chamfered corners bearing a "pigalle" cartouche, but is more closely related to the work of the great sculptor Bridan, whose marble model, "The Child with a Bird," is held at the Orléans Museum. A 19th-century work in good condition, retaining its original patina, a charming piece to place in a garden or home.
