Painter of landscapes, water landscapes, seascapes, watercolorist. Louis Etienne TIMMERMANS was a student at the Academy of Brussels and the School of Fine Arts in Paris. He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français in Paris, receiving an honorable mention in 1904. Louis Etienne TIMMERMANS worked mainly in France, painting seascapes, views of ports, and the quays of the Seine in Paris. Louis Etienne TIMMERMANS was particularly sensitive to the atmosphere of small fishing ports, which he painted with precise realism. Louis Etienne TIMMERMANS brought back landscapes from a stay in Holland, in which he played with light and water in a lyrical manner.
