French work, 19th century – In the 18th-century style.
An elegant bronze depicting a bearded triton, wearing a diadem of seaweed, emerging from the waves in a dynamic pose. His scaly tail, split in two, curls gracefully around the base. He supports on his back a large, finely sculpted shell, displaying a double patina: dark brown on the exterior and golden on the interior, allowing for decorative use as a trinket dish or bowl. A meticulously crafted sculpture, with powerful volumes and expressive details, representative of the historicist taste of the 19th century.
19th-century bronze with a double patina.
Excellent condition.
