Statue crown, late 19th century. This crown is made of cut and stamped brass, embellished with glass beads. The upper section is finely cut with a frieze of six-pointed stars alternating with fleur-de-lis. The lower band is adorned with undulating foliage alternating with small flowers. Each flower and star is decorated with one or more pieces of faceted glass beads imitating diamonds. A diametrical band was used to secure the crown to the head of a statue, probably originally a statue of the Virgin Mary. Very little deformation, no missing glass beads or any other decorative elements. The crown remains in its found condition and is slightly oval. Dimensions (maximum) at the top: approximately 24 cm x 22 cm. Weight: 282 grams. Shipping: €15 for mainland France. Other destinations: please contact me.
