Color lithograph after Loeillot, published by Gihaut Frères, 5 rue des Italiens, Paris. A beautiful stagecoach scene in full motion, typical of the Romantic imagery of the first half of the 19th century.
The work depicts a large post coach galloping along, passengers, coachman, and horses captured in a lively moment: a scene full of life, dust, and adventure, which instantly brings period charm to an interior. Perfect for decorating a country house, library, entryway, or living room with a historical touch.
The old paper has browned with age, and some minor foxing and signs of age are visible (see photos), but the overall effect remains decorative and very legible. The original wooden frame, with an antique green/gray mat, enhances its authentic character.
