These exquisite Canton plates date from the early 19th century, around 1820.
The "thousand butterflies" motif is spread across the white background and within four white cartouches on the rim.
In perfect condition, they are distinguished by their less vibrant and contrasting patterns compared to many others, lending them a certain elegance.
Don't be fooled; this is not wear and tear, as evidenced by the presence of the very bright and beautifully preserved gilding.
Relatively small in size, at 20.1 cm, the size of what we Europeans call dessert plates, they possess a precious character that will make them exquisite decorative objects.
Don't hesitate! It's not so common to find a pair of this quality!
