A very fine period binding in full red morocco leather with a long grain, containing an emblematic royal and national almanac, published in 1835, illustrating the state of France under Louis-Philippe. Wide and beautiful gilt dentelle borders both covers, decorated spine, all edges gilt. In addition to the essential calendar, this work notably contains dates of births and marriages, lists of members of the clergy, those in charge of royal households, army officers, figures in political life (parliamentarians, councilors of state, tax farmers, etc.), members of orders of chivalry; lists of libraries, members of the Academies, royal surgeons and pharmacists, the most important fairs; departure times for mail and passenger transport... The work concludes with the table of contents. The binding is in very good condition, with a slight tear on the spine, occasional rubbing to the headcaps, and one corner with a hole. The interior is clean and Clean, very rare marginal foxing. Octavo volume (21x13cm)
