Unidentified Haute Couture Ball Gown From The Art Deco Period – Paris, Circa 1925
Circa 1925, France. Unidentified Haute Couture ball gown dating from the Art Deco period in France. Long, sleeveless evening gown in celadon green silk crepe, densely embroidered with tubular glass beads and silver lamé. Tubular silhouette with a deep V-neck, cinched at the waist with a draped, fringed train in silver lamé. The embroidery design evokes the languid curves of Erté. Beaded fringe at the hem (a few rows of beads are missing). Underskirt in celadon green artificial silk taffeta and a flesh-colored chiffon panel with lace appliqués at the hips. Note two tiny, barely visible stains at the bust and a few missing beads. Otherwise, no holes or major flaws. The green chiffon remains very strong. Good overall condition. Size: Equivalent to French size 36-38. Height 135 cm, shoulders 33 cm, waist 90 cm, chest 90/92 cm, hips 98 cm.
