18th-century Portrait Of A "man Of Letters"
A very charming three-quarter view pastel portrait of a gentleman holding a letter, dating from the Louis XV-Louis XVI period. It has a large, period gilt frame with a few minor losses.
The pastel is in good condition, except perhaps for a small piece of paper at the top center that has spilled over onto the image; this piece of paper likely came from the frame's rabbet.
