"Mazarine Chest Of Drawers"
Early 18th century commode in marquetry of Alpine woods, ash burl, elm, walnut and holly stringing. It has four console-shaped uprights and is adorned with period bronze mounts known as "valets". It opens with three drawers on the front and is topped with a period red Ardennes marble slab. The drawer bottoms and the entire case are made of fir. This piece of furniture is entirely in the tradition of furniture made by Grenoble cabinetmakers! (axes?) We date it to around 1720-1730.
