The top is covered in its original green leather, framed by a blind-stamped vignette that attests to its authenticity. Around this top, a wide molding, crafted in a crow's beak shape, accentuates its contours. The desk opens with three drawers in the frieze, the central drawer distinguished by a rosewood veneer forming superb geometric patterns. This front is framed by ornate moldings and adorned with a superb chased bronze escutcheon, complete with its key and working lock. The two side drawers are embellished with decorative drop handles, each flanked by large bronze flowers applied to the front, reinforcing the opulent character of the whole.
