Oil on panel by the Liège artist Lucien Hock, born in 1899 in Liège. From 1912, at the School of Armsmaking, he trained as an engraver on weapons, then, from 1917 to 1919, studied under A. de Witte at the Liège Academy of Fine Arts. In 1918, he contributed to the journal Anthologie, founded by Georges Linze. He was a founding member of L'Atelier in 1932. It is said of him that in his youth, he produced remarkable portraits and that he was an excellent pastelist. Winner of the Marie Prize, in 1965 he received the consecration prize from the province of Liège.
