Large and elegant oil painting on canvas of a mountain landscape by François-Joseph Deschamps (1793-1860). This painting depicts mountain life in Sainte-Eulalie in the Dauphiné Alps. It was exhibited at the Lyon Salon under number 123 in 1854. This lively painting shows a shepherd with his goats walking along a stream. In the background are the mountains of Saint-Eulalie. The colors have remained vivid and luminous. A high-quality work in very good condition, signed and dated in red in the lower right corner: FJ Descamps, 1850.
