18th Century Regency Mirror In Gilded Wood
A superb and elegant giltwood mirror from the Regency period. Elongated in shape, it is adorned at its base with acanthus leaves and a central flower. Garlands of flowers surround each side of the upper section, while foliage and an openwork shell motif adorn the top. The entire mirror is molded around its perimeter, and the back is decorated with guilloché work. The original giltwood retains its period patina; a high-quality piece with exquisitely detailed carving, in very good condition, and rare in its proportions.
