"Bowl Of Carved Wooden Figures, Folk Art, Early 19th Century"
A pair of peasants carved from pine with a patinated finish. Black Forest folk art. Both figures are barefoot. They wear head coverings and carry baskets on their backs. The bearded man holds a barrel covered with a cloth. The woman carries her harvest in her raised apron. Some damage and missing pieces. These were likely souvenirs brought back from trips to Germany. Height of the man: 36 cm. Height of the woman: 35 cm.
