"Carved Chest Lid, High Period, 17th Century"
This finely carved oak lid features a central circular cartouche depicting a lion leaping upon a stag. On either side, two rampant dragons stand amidst a field of vines and fruit. It is adorned with five iron cabochons and a clasp. There is a small chip in the left corner.
