"Pair Of 19th Century Giltwood Wall-mounted Consoles. "
A pair of gilded wood wall sconces, Italian work, likely from Venice, dating from the 19th century and inspired by the Louis XV period. The two consoles form a pair, the figures facing each other. There is a right and a left. The two winged cherubs, with their arms raised, support a rounded, scalloped shelf. The children's bodies end in mermaid tails. Some minor losses to the carving detract slightly from the overall aesthetic.
