Sculpture "nude With A Doe" By Geneviève Granger. 1930s
Sculpture by Geneviève Granger (1877-1967), French sculptor and ceramicist. A student of Massoulle and E. Dubois, she exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français in Paris, becoming a member in 1899. She received an honorable mention and a third-class medal in 1901 and participated in the Salon d'Automne in 1903. This beautiful edition sculpture is typical of her work from the 1930s, both in its depiction of a majestic woman and in the hairstyle. Note a very slight chip on the left-hand side of the base (see photo).
