Silver-gilt Sugar-stirring Spoon, First Republic Period, Late 18th Century
A silver-gilt sugar sugar sugar spoon from the First Republic period, circa 1793-1794, re-hallmarked during the Restoration by the master goldsmith Clerin Aimée Catherune (widow Lecour). 1/ Hallmark: female head in an oval with the letter P: unofficial hallmark used by the goldsmiths' association between 1793 and 1794. 2/ Master goldsmith's hallmark: ACC crowned cup: registration 1818-1819. 3/ Octagonal old man hallmark: Paris 950/1000, used between 1819 and 1838. 4/ Spoon hallmark with Ceres: Paris large guarantee 1819-1838. Monogram HE in a shield on the spatula. Wear to the gilding. Weight: 57 grams.
