Period: Late 19th century
Origin: Naples, Italy
Technique: Cast and chased bronze
Dimensions: Height 60 cm; base diameter 25 cm
Description:
Magnificent bronze sculpture signed “F. De Luca” on the back of the base, created by the Neapolitan artist Ferdinando De Luca, active between the 19th and 20th centuries. The figure, perfectly proportioned, rises with harmonious lightness and sinuous elegance: a dynamic male nude whose body seems to flow naturally and energetically, evoking a classical ideal reinterpreted in a modern key.
The warm bronze patina enhances the refined modeling of the muscles, and the spiral composition invites the eye to follow the fluid movement from foot to head. A work of rare quality, it represents a perfect balance between academic tradition and late 19th-century/Art Nouveau taste.
Code: 341
