Important Solid Silver Art Deco Period Cases, Minerva Hallmark, 178 G, Puiforcat Era
A very beautiful Art Deco period solid silver cigarette case. All the finesse and style of the era are embodied in this solid silver case. Highly stylized lines are achieved with five large central bands surrounded by a fine geometric grid. Fine striated lines adorn the edges, and the closing mechanism functions perfectly. The case is in perfect condition, with no dents or other damage. It bears the silversmith's hallmarks on the opening mechanism and the Minerva hallmark inside (950/1000 silver). A French piece from the 1920s, it measures 12 cm long and 8 cm wide, and is quite heavy at 178 grams. A sublime Art Deco object.
