It is worth noting that the title of the sketch, "Yvonne and Her Dog," was changed at the Salon to the more dignified title "Yvonne and Her Faithful Friend"! There is a lovely modeling and a powerful rendering of texture in this painting. Judging by the woman's headdress, the scene is likely set in Finistère. In 1868, he also exhibited another painting, "Leaving the Church (Finistère)".
