Gilt Bronze Photo Frame With An "ivory" Moiré Mat, Late 19th Century
Large format for this late 19th-century photo frame with an ivory moiré fabric mat. Made of gilt bronze, the frame and its rim feature the same gadrooned and beaded decoration with small floral branch motifs at intervals. A wide Louis XVI ribbon completes the design at the top. The frame has its protective glass and a cardboard backing, allowing it to be displayed on a surface or hung.
