"Naked Grace With The Golden Fleece Attributed To Umberto Baglioni (1893-1965),turin, Circa 1930"
She sits upright on the golden fleece, represented on the side by the ram's head. In an attitude of chastity, she holds her left arm above her face. A piece of fabric hangs from her shoulder. The statue is most likely made of Brossasco marble, a material highly prized by Piedmontese sculptors. Umberto Baglioni studied in Modena, Urbino, and Florence, then attended the academies of Turin and Florence, before becoming director of the Turin academy.
