Louis XV Commode, Stamped Guillaume, 18th Century
A Louis XV commode with curved fronts, stamped Simon GUILLAUME, dating from the 18th century. It is inlaid with rosewood within rosewood frames. The front features two drawers. The top is a Royal Red marble slab with a corbelled edge. It rests on slightly cabriole legs with gilt bronze sabots. It measures 113 cm in length (82 cm at the front), 48 cm in depth, and 84 cm in height. It is in very good condition. Simon GUILLAUME (1734 - February 26, 1816) - Cabinetmaker. Paris. Guillaume worked on rue de la Roquette and later on rue du Faubourg-Saint-Antoine. He worked for Topino. He is known to have made some Louis XV furniture.
