Edwardian Basket Flower Enameled Locket In 18k Gold, Art Nouveau Pendant, Sentimental Jewelry

Edwardian sentimental locket pendant in 18 karat gold. The round, hinged medallion is decorated with a platinum floral basket set with six rose-cut diamonds. It rests on a circular background of guilloché blue enamel. This central motif is framed by a frieze of laurel leaves and knots (a symbol of attachment), itself encircled by a frieze of ivy (another symbol of attachment) on a white enamel background. The whole is highlighted by a blue enamel frieze forming scrolls around small flowers and five-armed crosses. The pendant opens to reveal a hidden antique photograph or sentimental object.
