World-renowned for his Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro, Paul Landowski also created smaller works such as this tribute to Bourdelle's archer. Paul Landowski (1875-1961), Heracles and the Hind with Brazen Feet, 1922, bronze cast with a gilt patina on its original sea-green marble base, "F. Barbedienne Fondeur. Paris," early casting circa 1922-1936, signed and dated on the base, 49.5 x 58.5 x 25.4 cm. Ferdinand Barbedienne cast Heracles and the Hind with Brazen Feet between 1922 and 1936. A copy is on display at the Landowski Museum in Boulogne-Billancourt. A plaster cast, dated 1921, is also held there.
