A painting of bold colors with typical Ambrogiani impasto. Pierre Ambrogiani, born in Ajaccio in 1907, pursued his career primarily in Marseille. Using thick impasto with pure colors, he said, "I would like to paint with the colors of the sun." He achieved international success. Recognized by his peers, he is considered the greatest Provençal artist of his generation. His expressionist painting sometimes borders on abstraction. Pure colors are applied with a palette knife. Pierre Ambrogiani described himself as a lover of color, sometimes even manipulating it manually. His well-placed colors offer the viewer a magical spectacle of light.
