Roger Guérin, Pelican Planter. An elegant stoneware planter, salt-glazed at high temperature in nuanced shades of blue, olive green, and metallic gray, adorned with two stylized pelicans forming the handles. Art Deco work, 1925. A fine example of the skill of master ceramist Roger Guérin, combining Art Deco lines and refined glaze effects. Engraved inscription under the base: "Grés d'art Bouffioulx" and model number 754. Roger Guérin won the silver medal at the International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts in Paris in 1925.
