Carcel Lamp In Painted Sheet Metal, 19th Century, Height 76 Cm

Carcel lamp in painted sheet metal imitating "Vert de Mer" marble, in the shape of a stylized antique crater with volutes, mid-19th century.
Scroll handles decorated with florets and acanthus leaves.
Square base.
New wiring : gilt brass socket for an E27 screw-in bulb mounted on a ball joint, new wire.
The power supply is routed through the inside of the base.
Its oval lampshade with cut corners was created from "Palazzo" fabric by Pierre Frey, featuring the Villa Rotonda in Vicenza on one side and the Villa Medicea di Poggio a Caiano on the other.
This lampshade shape has the advantage of being shallow and not adding bulk.
