"Filippo Indoni Watercolor Painting."
19th-century watercolor painting by Filippo Indoni. Filippo Indoni, an Italian watercolorist born in Rome in 1842 and who died in the same city in 1908, was a highly talented artist working in the realist style. He favored popular subjects, particularly peasants and workers, whom he often depicted with a touch of good humor. His aim was to portray the common people with dignity and pride. This painting is a prime example, depicting a young boy smoking a pipe with pride and joy. The quality of execution is superb, from the figure and his clothing to the setting, including the wall and a beautiful door. A magnificent work that has retained all its freshness and vibrancy. It measures 53 x 37 cm. Original giltwood frame. Period bubble glass. Shipping available within France and worldwide via secure and insured packaging. The painting can be collected in person at the Avallrich Montescot estate or at my stand during the Montpellier Cipolat market, held every two months on the market terrace. Invoice and certificate provided.
