Crystal ewer with a silver mount decorated with flowers. Hallmarked with the Minerva mark, as well as the maker's mark of Alphonse Debain. Alphonse Debain is one of the greatest French silversmiths. Son and grandson of Parisian silversmiths established since 1847 on Rue du Temple, Alphonse Debain registered his hallmark in 1883. He presented his first creations at the 1889 Paris Universal Exhibition and won a gold medal for his talent and the modernity of his pieces. In addition to perfectly executed pieces in his style, he is known for some very fine Art Nouveau works.
