Beautiful bronze nineteenth s, parJF Gechter Theodore, renowned sculptor for his animal subjects. Hunting dog stopped before a hare. Beautiful original patina, good condition. Jean-François Theodore Gechter, French sculptor, born in Paris in 1795, died in Paris on 11 December 1844. He was a pupil of François Joseph Bosio and Baron Gros, as Antoine-Louis Barye.Sa first exhibition which took place in 1824, was focused on classical and mythological subjects. From 1830 it will go to smaller sculptures and animal themes, like Barye.
