Louis XVI Period Weekly Planner - 18th Century
A Louis XVI period chest of drawers, with canted corners, inlaid with rosewood and palisander. It opens with six drawers, including a large one at the bottom. The bronze drawer pulls feature ram's head finials. The structure is made of softwood, and the whole is surmounted by a Saint Anne marble slab. This chest of drawers bears traces of the VIRRIG stamp. About: Nicolas Virrig – cabinetmaker. Paris. Master on April 11, 1781. Of German origin, his stamp is most often found on mahogany furniture, quite simple but well-made.
