"Large Louis XV Style Walnut Writing Desk With Slanted Front, Commode, And Drop-front Writing Surface, 18th Century."
A large, 18th-century, slant-front desk in solid walnut resting on four cabriole legs. The lower section features two large, through-drawers of different heights. Each drawer is opened by two solid brass knobs and has a central lock with its key, both in good working order. The upper section opens with a large drop-front, revealing a very large work surface. The drop-front also has a lock in good working order. This Louis XV period piece is very rare due to its considerable size. It is in very good overall condition, with some minor repairs, particularly to the legs (small splices), and a small, very old graft on the upper right side of the writing surface. See photos. Dimensions: total height: 91 cm, height under the lid in the open position: 65.5 cm, length: 134 cm, depth closed: 70 cm, depth with the lid open: 114 cm. Shipping costs by carrier: please contact us.
