Charming Mahogany Cooling Table.
This beautiful 19th-century mahogany cooling table dates from the Restoration period.
It consists of a Belgian black marble top, into which two zinc cooling jugs are set.
The entire piece rests on a mahogany frame with mitered joints.
The Restoration-style legs are reminiscent of Jacob-style legs.
The feet terminate in small bronze sabots.
Two intermediate shelves are positioned at different heights on the base.
beneath the thick top, large enough to hold the drinks to be chilled in the zinc jugs, is a drawer running the entire length of the piece, mounted with small dovetail joints on an oak side and back structure.
Restoration period, first half of the 19th century. Waxed varnish finish.

The two zinc chilling jugs have been remade to match the originals.
