Love Medal by AUGIS in LYON. 18-carat gold (eagle's head hallmark). Weight: 2.17 g. The Love Medal was created in 1907 in the Lyon workshops of the House of A. Augis. Its creator, Alphonse Augis, grandson of the founder of the House, had the idea of transcribing the verses of a famous poem by Madame Rosemonde Rostand entitled "Les Vieux" (The Old Folks), dating from 1889, a true declaration of love to her husband Edmond Rostand. "For you see, each day I love you more, today more than yesterday and much less than tomorrow."
