Set Of Six Vietnamese Lacquer Cups & Saucers With Goldfish, Signed Thanh Lê, Mid-20th Century

Beautiful and complete set of six vintage Vietnamese lacquer cups with matching saucers, each hand-painted and signed by the artist Thanh Lê.

The exteriors are finished in a rich dark brown lacquer finely decorated in gold with elegant scenes of goldfish swimming among aquatic plants, while the interiors are a striking vermilion red. Each saucer and cup bears a unique hand-painted motif, and one piece is signed Thanh Lê in gold to the underside.

A lovely example of mid-20th-century Vietnamese lacquerware, blending traditional techniques with refined modern design.

Diameter of saucers: 12 cm.

Condition good, with only light wear consistent with age and use.
