DEMONSTRATION PLATINUM, SILEX, AND SPINNING WHEEL
Europe, 18th and 19th centuries
Iron and brass
Length: 20.5

Flat brass platinum engraved on each end with a snake coiled around a branch, one side of which ends in a cutout depicting a flame.
It features an iron flint hammer engraved in half-relief with a winged woman with a mermaid's tail, bare-breasted, revealing a bird's foot. The jaw is engraved to form a bird's head with a large beak, surmounted by an architectural screw head.
The lock case and cover are made of brass.
At the front is an external spring, engraved in steel, which allows the second bassinet cover, made of brass like the second bassinet, to be positioned. A four-sided key illustrates the wheel winding system.

An object of curiosity, in very good condition; presented on a base.
