Louis XV Style Curved Oak Fireplace, 18th Century.
Dating from the Louis XV period, this very fine oak fireplace is adorned, in the center against a stylized parchment background, with a kind of coat of arms; on either side are lavishly carved florets and foliage. The jambs feature an elegiac molding on the front and sides, and the base rests on a plinth. The front is curved, and the mantel has been replaced at some point, though this is almost imperceptible. Dimensions: length 191 cm, height 104 cm, depth 31 cm.
