"Sevres – Biscuit Porcelain Bust Of Joseph Agricol Viala – 19th Century."
This charming bust of Viala (1778-1793) on a blue porcelain pedestal with a gilt border is titled Viala. He, dressed in military uniform, died at the age of 15 in Caumont-sur-Durance, sacrificing himself to prevent royalist counter-revolutionaries from crossing the Durance River. The Sèvres mark is impressed on the back. The mark S82 is in green. Gilded in Sèvres in 1889. Very good condition. Height: 30 cm.
