A Swiss Or Italian Side Table In Marquetry Depicting An Eagle And Chamois, With Halberd Legs, 19th Century
A striking walnut pedestal table with an inlaid top and tripod base.
The base is carved with halberds and a spiked ball in the center.
The top features marquetry with animals: chamois in reserves on the sides and eagles in the center.
The frieze beneath the top is carved.
We offer this piece in its found condition; one side of the frieze beneath the top is uncarved (likely replaced long ago), the underside of the top has been reinforced, and the top is scratched in places.
However, this pedestal table is truly exceptional and highly decorative.
Mid-19th century.
Delivery by carrier on a pallet: €200 within France, €500 within the EU, and €1000 for the rest of the world.
