"European School (c. 1940) - Ecce Ancilla Domini"
Oil on cardboard. This interesting religious painting vaguely evokes the Cubist work of Daniel Vázquez Díaz, a pioneer of the Spanish avant-garde painting of the 1920s. While the figures remain intact, traces of linear and formal synthesis are inscribed in the simple scene of the Angelus, lending it an elegant refinement that echoes the simplicity of the Virgin Mary. Dimensions of the image without frame: 26 x 37 cm / 36 x 48 cm with a magnificent custom-made gilt frame.
