This beautifully crafted 19th-century jardinière is mounted in bronze with a Louis XVI-style inset. It is in good condition, with only slight oxidation. The Manufacture nationale de Sèvres is the French state ceramics manufactory. Founded in Vincennes in 1740 during the reign of Louis XV, the royal manufactory became imperial and then national. Today, it is one of the institutions comprising the public establishment of the Manufactures nationales - Sèvres & Mobilier national, under the supervision of the Ministry of Culture.
